Sharing the news with our families

Just a quick recap of how we told our families this past weekend!

MY MOM: We had plans to get my family together for dinner and tell everyone together last Friday night, but unfortunately my mom had made plans to go to a conference out of town. It had been really difficult trying to coordinate everyone, so I ended up calling her and telling her over the phone Friday afternoon. I figured that if I couldn't tell her in person, at least she should be the first person to know :) She FREAKED OUT and I thought she was going to die of excitement!!

MY DAD AND SISSY: A couple weeks back I had casually asked my dad and sis if they wanted to meet for dinner on Friday 10/14. We decided to meet at the Red Cedar Grill in Williamston and we were able to tell them the news in person! We told them we had some good news to share, and then announced that my dad was going to be a grandpa. I swear neither of them believed it at first - they both said at the same time "ARE YOU SERIOUS??"

KYLE AND SUSAN (KEITH'S BROTHER AND SISTER-IN-LAW): They were staying the night at our house the same Friday night so that we could wake up early on Saturday for the MSU/UM tailgate. We told them in person at our house... Keith said "So remember when Danny was talking about Lindsay being pregnant and made her drink a beer at mom and dad's house? Well the beer can was really filled with water."

DANNY (KEITH'S BROTHER): Keith told him in person at the MSU/UM tailgate... unfortunately I wasn't there to witness it, but I think it went along the same lines as how we told Kyle and Susan :)

KEITH'S PARENTS: This one was tough because we never really had a good time to tell them! We knew we wanted to tell them in person this weekend, and our original plan was to tell them at the beginning of tailgate before too many people were around. But unfortunately we never got the chance to be alone with them until the very end of tailgate. Of course at this point everyone was a little bit toasty (except me!), but we didn't really have a choice other than to tell them then. So again, we told them about how the beer can was really filled with water. Immediately Martee and Ralph both started crying!

Also, we received these beautiful flowers from Keith's parents yesterday. Thank you again!!

We feel incredibly lucky to have such great parents and siblings and we cannot wait to share this journey with you all! Love you guys so much!!
